The journey to La Palma

We inform you about the existing possibilities to get here with the plane or with the ferries.

Air traffic

The first airport of La Palma in Breña Alta took up the service in 1950.

The runway was shut down 1970. On the coast side, south of Santa Cruz de La Palma, the new airport took up the service.

Since 1987 it is the sixth international airport of the Canary islands. Many European charter flight companies offer flights to La Palma several times in the week. Daily halfhourly flights to the neighbour islands are offered by local airlines and several daily connections to the Spanish peninsula are offered by various companies.

The Spanish airlines offer from some cities (Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Munich) a favorable alternative to the usual carriers Condor and Air Berlin in particular during the summer holidays. They cooperate with the airlines of the Canarian Islands (Binter Canarias and Islas Airways) so that the luggage can be checked in by departure to the final destination.

Tickets with the ferry from Los Cristianos on Tenerife can be booked on-line. However they must be shown by the counter before entering the ferry.

Don´t hesitate to contact us for more in depth information about the possibilities getting here.

Ferry

The companies Fred Olsen S.L and Armas offer the ferry connections between the Canary Islands.

As alternative to the frequent airline connections to La Palma from Teneriffa north, are the daily ferrys between Teneriffa starting from Los Christianos and La Palma port with Fred Olsen or Naviera Armas. (Transfer airport Teneriffa south to Los Christianos approx. 15-20 euros with taxi)
